We got a lot of Sheridan people on board with us. Starting with Jade, then Kristina, then Renee, then Dani, then Holly, not particularly in that order.
So it wasn’t much surprise when Jonna, an artist whose style really caught my eye, turned out to be from Sheridan (they really produce good artists there. Something about the water there or something).
And fortunate enough, she was able to make it onto this anthology. I’m so glad that happened because her comic is fun, stylish, and awesome, and I’ll just let you experience it when you pick up a copy.
So here’s Jonna!
First of all, cats or dogs? (or both?) Any particular reasons why?
I love how most cats are withdrawn with their affection. It makes me want to chase after it more. Also, how they’re murderous but also too cute to be scary.
What’s the inspiration behind your work in Furr 2?
My cat always attacks my feet under the blankets while I’m trying to sleep. I think the movement somehow triggers her hunting instincts. It was terrifying at first but now I purposely make her chase after my foot for fun (my comforter is thick enough that I don’t feel anything).
What quirks or peculiarities does your pet have that you won’t find in other cats/dogs? (OR if you don’t have a pet): If you had a pet, what quirks or peculiarities would you want your pet to have?
Her meows are like…very weird. It sounds like a child crying for me.
Which animal describes you better, a dog or a cat?
Probably a cat…
If you could either be a cat or a dog for a day, which would you choose, and what would you do?
Both would be pretty nice because you just have someone take care of you anyway…but I think I’d be a pretty boring dog so it’s cat again.
Which would you vote for president? A dog or a cat? And why?
A dog because a cat would just end up sleeping on the job.
Let’s say Furr 3 happens (crossing fingers). Other than dogs and cats, what other kind of stories about animals do you think we should try to include?
Birds!
