This week's webcomic selection: Comics About working out
Working out, losing weight, getting muscles. Whatever it is about, exercise is not an easy thing. You need quite a bit of determination if you really to get those muscles growing on you. You tell yourself new year, new you, but it's damn hard to get up and put the work in. Let alone get to the gym.
And you have to watch for whether you're putting your proper efforts in there. Otherwise you're really just wasting time. You also have to make sure that you watch your eating. Especially if you're thinking to 'reward' yourself after a good workout. Just like Caity is doing here:
And of course, even with determination and the will to change your body for the better, it can be tough. You go to the gym, and you look at all the other people with these bulging muscles. Flat abs. Majestic chests. It's daunting, and you look at yourself and think about how and when you'll get there as well. Where you are, and where they are now just feel like an impossible distance away.
Filis definitely knows how that feels:
But you just gotta keep working out. People eventually get there. A month passes, then two. Then 6, and suddenly you've been at it for 3 years feeling amazing.
Having a better you is a long term project, and there is no shortcut to it other than just making sure that you show up and work it. Put the time in, as well as the effort. Sweat the good sweat, and feel that burn coursing through your muscles. We're given one body and one body only, we might as well make the best of it right?
Otherwise, you'll be running out of breath while trying to grind out breadcrumbs, like Carolina's boyfriend:
